On the afternoon of November 21, 2024, a delegation from the Changzhou Arbitration Commission (hereinafter referred to as "Changzhou Arbitration") led by Zhang Xiang, Director of the Office, and Gao Lei, Deputy Director of the Research and Development Department, visited our firm for guidance and exchange. They were warmly received by Zhou Lianyong, Director and Party Secretary of our firm, along with Xu Hao, Deputy Director and Head of the Arbitration Business Department; Xu Bangda, Deputy Supervisor and Senior Partner; Qiao Zhonglong, Director of the Local Legislation Research Center and Senior Partner; and Yuan Yiwei, Partner, among others.

During the discussion, Director Zhou Lianyong introduced the firm's 20-year development history and key practice areas. He emphasized that arbitration, as an internationally recognized dispute resolution mechanism, plays an increasingly vital role in optimizing the business environment and maintaining social stability. Legal service institutions have a unique advantage in promoting arbitration law and policies, as well as expanding arbitration practices. Lawyers have been instrumental in advancing arbitration and are frequently seen among arbitrators. He expressed his hope that Changzhou Arbitration and our firm could enhance business exchanges and explore new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Director Zhang Xiang highly recognized and sincerely appreciated the contributions of our Local Legislation Research Center in promoting the development of arbitration. He noted that the revised Changzhou Arbitration Commission Arbitration Rules, drafted with the center's assistance, have reached an advanced national standard and will be officially released and implemented in December. He further introduced the development of the Jiangsu New Energy Dispute Arbitration Center and the current landscape of the new energy sector in Changzhou. Looking ahead, he expressed his desire for strengthened collaboration with our firm in various activities and business exchanges to achieve mutual progress.

Lawyers Qiao Zhonglong, Xu Hao, and Xu Bangda engaged in in-depth discussions with the delegation on key provisions of the Draft Amendment to the Arbitration Law, best practices for handling financial arbitration cases, and the selection mechanism for arbitrators. They highlighted the potential for both sides to leverage their strengths to advance legal services. Additionally, Yuan Yiwei, head of the Qihang·Yuanmeng young lawyers' team, emphasized the role of young lawyers in integrating arbitration into commercial dispute resolution. International business lawyer and member of the arbitration rules revision team, You Qian, also participated in the discussions.

This exchange not only deepened mutual understanding and trust between our firm and Changzhou Arbitration but also paved the way for future cooperation in resolving new energy industry disputes. Both parties will take this opportunity to enhance collaboration and jointly explore new pathways for high-quality development.
